A few weeks ago I recieved a lovely little colony of Pheidole Pallidula from www.anthouse.es consisting of around 50 workers (workers and soldiers) and 1 lovely queen. They were moved into an AntHouse queens chamber. They did have brood, however never moved it out of the test tube. So that died. However the queen laid many eggs, 100+ and they now have 100-200 larvae! Temperature is at 25•c. Videos soon.

I'm amazed at how well this colony is doing. They have been called the Myrmions after our soldier ant Myrm There has been about 20+ new callows! New eggs have been laid to replace the old, which are now larvae There is pretty much a constant turning table of brood!

Colony has now doubled in size... It's amazing at how quick brood develops in this species. I need a new nest soon!

Oh no! This colony actually had a freak accident, eating and feeding the blue tac (holding the nest in place) to their larvae! But they now are in a test tube setup with 5 workers, 1 queen and a hell of a lot of eggs They are slowly recovering. This happened last week btw I will be getting some new queens soon too.
