Name the genus! Firstly, sorry about not doing the weekly quizzes! Been vary busy! I cut leaves for my fungus, My queen is the size of a bumble bee and in fully grown nests hardly moves. I can have soldiers, which native American tribes used for healing wounds. I am on a BBC documentary. What am I?

The genus I think you're speaking of is Atta. They are one of two(?) genus' that are leafcutter ants, the other being Acromyrmex. The BBC documentary you mention features the species Atta Cephalotes in what I think is a very hard to create captivity environment used to study them.
If I remember correctly Atta are also quite common ingredients (for human food) in some cultures.

Correct! The conditions are not hard to recreate, but its just maintaining those conditions and always supplying food for the fungus. I think there are a few more than 2 genuses of leafcutters. Quiz locked
